PPC Affiliate ROI Calculator
Estimate whether a paid affiliate campaign could make money before you spend your budget. Calculate expected conversions, approved commissions, revenue, profit, ROI, earnings per click, break-even CPC and the conversion rate required to meet your target.
Campaign assumptions
Enter estimates for one campaign and one consistent reporting period. Use the same currency for all monetary values.
Campaign forecast
Results are modeled from your budget, average CPC, conversion rate, approval rate, payout and additional costs.

How to use this PPC affiliate calculator
- Enter the advertising budget and average cost per click.
- Estimate the percentage of clicks that become affiliate conversions.
- Enter the commission actually paid per approved conversion.
- Adjust the approval rate if your network rejects or reverses some conversions.
- Add other campaign costs and choose your target ROI.
- Review the profit forecast, EPC, break-even metrics and downloadable report.
How the calculator works
1. Estimated clicks
Estimated clicks equal your advertising spend divided by the average cost per click. This is a projection based on your assumed CPC, rather than actual clicks reported by an advertising platform.
Clicks = Advertising spend ÷ Average CPC
2. Expected conversions and approvals
The conversion rate estimates how many clicks produce a sale or lead. The approval rate then estimates how many conversions become payable. This distinction matters when an affiliate network reviews leads, reverses orders or pays only for qualifying actions.
Conversions = Clicks × Conversion rate
Approved conversions = Conversions × Approval rate
3. Revenue, profit and ROI
Estimated revenue is based on expected approved conversions multiplied by the commission for each approved conversion. Profit subtracts both advertising spend and the additional costs entered in the calculator.
Revenue = Approved conversions × Commission per approval
Profit = Revenue − Advertising spend − Other costs
ROI (%) = Profit ÷ Total campaign costs × 100
ROAS and ROI are not the same metric. ROAS measures revenue relative to advertising spend. ROI here measures estimated profit relative to advertising spend plus other campaign costs.
4. Earnings per click (EPC)
EPC estimates how much commission revenue each click produces on average. It helps compare offers, but the result depends on conversion quality, commission rules and the period represented by your inputs.
EPC = Expected commission revenue ÷ Clicks
5. Break-even CPC and conversion rate
The break-even conversion rate estimates the rate needed to cover total campaign costs for the modeled traffic volume. The break-even CPC estimates the average click price at which those costs would be covered, assuming conversion performance and budget remain as modeled.
Break-even conversion rate = Total costs ÷ (Clicks × Approval rate × Payout) × 100
The target conversion rate applies your selected ROI goal rather than only covering costs. If the required rate exceeds 100%, the target is not feasible under the current assumptions.
Important considerations before running paid affiliate traffic
- Check program terms: some merchants prohibit paid search, trademark bidding, certain traffic sources or direct linking.
- Use realistic estimates: conversion and approval rates can vary by offer, country, device, landing page and traffic intent.
- Include real costs: account for trackers, landing pages, creatives, software, refunds and other costs where relevant.
- Keep attribution consistent: compare spend and attributed commission revenue for the same campaign and reporting period.
This tool is for scenario planning and education. It does not connect to your advertising or affiliate accounts, predict future performance, or guarantee that a campaign will be profitable.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good ROI for a PPC affiliate campaign?
There is no universal target. It depends on your actual costs, payout, approval rate, traffic quality and the return you need to justify your time and risk. Compare the modeled ROI with your own target.
Can ROAS be positive while a campaign loses money?
Yes. Revenue may be lower than the combined advertising and operating costs. This is why the calculator presents profit and ROI alongside ROAS.
Why is the number of approved conversions sometimes fractional?
This is an expected-value forecast. For example, 2,000 clicks at a 3% conversion rate produce an estimate of 60 conversions; a 90% approval rate estimates 54 approved conversions. Fractional forecasts are useful for averages, but actual conversions are whole events.
Does changing currency convert my money?
No. The currency selector changes formatting only. Enter every monetary figure in the same currency; no foreign-exchange rate is applied.
Does this calculator guarantee profit or campaign approval?
No. All outputs depend on your estimates. Advertising platforms and affiliate programs may have restrictions or review requirements, and real campaign performance may differ from projections.
